At the September 2021 Town Meeting, members voted to approve an independent housing needs assessment, proposed by the Housing Partnership Committee. Such an assessment has never been done in Burlington; it will provide an overview of our town's demographics and trends, current housing inventory, and housing needs, and will serve as a guide to develop equitable housing policies, budgets, programs, and strategies.
Since last fall, the town has hosted community focus groups, a townwide forum, and fielded a housing survey for residents to gather information about the town's housing needs. The final Housing Needs Assessment report will be completed and released this summer.
