To request a report online, please fill out the Online Report Request Form (be sure to include an email address or mailing address).  Requests may take up to 10 business days in accordance with Massachusetts State Law.

If a fee is required for the search and release of the incident report an invoice will be supplied prior to release.

Requesting a Copy of a Crash Report

If you are looking for a copy of a Crash Report you may try to obtain one via the Registry of Motor Vehicles or fill out our online report request form.  You may also request a copy of a police or crash report in person at the police station.

Please allow 5 to 7 business days (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays not included) after the crash to obtain the report. Reports are searchable by date, report numbers are not required.

Please make sure your state-mandated operator report has been filed prior to the request.

Telephone Requests

Note: Under the Massachusetts Public Records Law, we cannot honor requests made via the telephone. If you would like to request a copy of a police report you may do so in person or in writing (fax, email, or letter). We will respond to all requests within the 10 days allotted to us per Massachusetts Public Records Law: requests are answered in the order they are received by the department.

Requests from third Party website(s) cannot be received by this Department's email provider due to the high-security firewall. If you wish to make a request through a third-party website(s) please forward a copy of the request by mail so we may ensure that you receive a prompt response.
