Police Details
The Detail Office is responsible for assigning off-duty officers or special officers within the town to ensure motor vehicle and pedestrian safety. In an effort to ensure proper public safety, traffic details are required for any road work performed on a public way or on a sidewalk. All details are at the discretion of the Chief of Police or his designee.
The required number of officers at a construction detail is dictated by the scope and needs of each project. In addition to traffic detail, the Burlington Police Department also offers security details for events and instances requiring the presence of an officer for an extended period of time.
All detail work is performed at no cost to the Town of Burlington.
How to Order a Detail:
- The Detail Officer is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 A.M. to 2 P.M. To order a detail during these hours, please call 781-505-4972. Do not leave a voicemail requesting a detail.
- For after-hours requests, or if the detail officer is unavailable, please call 781-272-1212 and press "0" to speak to the desk officer.
- If there are any questions regarding billing information or detail rates, please call 781-505-4972. You may leave a voicemail requesting this information, and the detail officer will get back to you at his earliest convenience.
