Homework Help for Teens

Need some help with homework or that research paper that's coming up? We’ve separated out the databases and websites we think would be most useful to you based on topic. The topics are as follows: Citation Resources, Encyclopedias, Foreign Language, General Reference, History, Literature, and Primary Sources.  If you’re at home you may need to sign in with your library card number. Click on the title to be taken to the website or database.

CITATION RESOURCES

SON OF CITATION MACHINE
    
Create bibliographies with ease! On the left side of the website choose the format you need (MLA, APA, Turabian, or Chicago). Just plug in the information and the Son of Citation Machine will do the rest!

EASYBIB

This website has the same premise as Son of Citation Machine, but also has an app option. Scan a book's barcode with your phone, and then send them to your email to export. 

PERDUE OWL RESEARCH & CITATION RESOURCES

This website won’t create the bibliography for you, but it is a great resource for reference. Can Son of Citation not find your book? Are you unsure how to cite your source in text? This website has the answer as well as a ton of resources for APA, MLA and Chicago.

This Public Library Edition is a large comprehensive encyclopedia with images and links to 80,000 quality web site. Also includes links to primary sources. Kids Edition is also available.

GALE DATABASES - INFOTRAC   [Video help]
The Gale Databases are a massive database which includes Academic OneFile, Expanded Academic ASAP, General Reference Center Gold, and General OneFile plus others. The many databases can be searched individually or simultaneously.  Contains newspaper and magazine articles as well as scholarly journals on a wide variety of topics including business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature, art, politics, science, social science, sports, and technology.  Millions of full-text articles.  Also includes databases specifically for elementary, middle, and high school students.
