Burlington Firefighters and EMT’s responded to a
motor vehicle crash on
Cambridge
St.
by
Edsel. Upon arrival
rescuers found a 46 year old Lynn Mass woman trapped and
unresponsive in her 1996 Plymouth Neon.
Burlington
’s Engine 1 and Ambulance 1 were first dispatched to
the scene. Additional
companies called to the scene were Burlington Engine 2, Armstrong
ALS, BLS and Billerica Paramedic.
The driver of the second vehicle was treated and taken
to Burlington’s Lahey Clinic and later released. The
two children who were also in the vehicle with the entrapped driver
were taken to Lowell General where they were treated and released.
The woman was freed after a lengthy extrication due to the
severe damage to the vehicle and transported to Lahey.
The driver passed away 3 days later due to extensive injuries.
