Bedford St. Culvert Replacement Project  

Description

Two corrugated metal culvert pipes which run under Bedford St. at the above location are beginning to collapse and will be replaced with new reinforced concrete pipe. The two headwalls are also showing signs of failure and will be replaced with new concrete headwalls.

During the height of construction, the entire road at this location will have to be closed to install the new pipes across the road. While the road is closed, vehicles and pedestrians will be unable to pass and should seek alternate routes. An advised detour route is shown below. Although the road will be closed to through-traffic, all local residents, postal services, bus services, and trash removal will have access to the properties at all times. Construction is expected to start the beginning of July and finish the end of August. While it is possible construction could finish sooner, residents should expect the road to be closed for 6-8 weeks. The project is expected to be complete before school begins in the fall.
