May Baskets

Would you be willing to create a May Basket to benefit the Library?

The Burlington Public Library holds a fund raising event each May that allows for great community involvement. Businesses, community groups, and individuals are asked to create and donate MAY BASKETS containing a variety of appealing items with a minimum value of $25. Baskets might contain products that promote your business or relate to your organization or they can hold anything that will appeal to the general public! I hope that you might be willing to create a May Basket that can be raffled off to benefit the Library.  Last year over 4,700 raffle tickets were purchased, making it the most successful fundraiser of the year for the Burlington Public Library.  

If you decide to participate, I’d request to have the basket in the library by Wednesday, April 24, in order to prepare it for display. Here are simple instructions for preparing the donation and a letter of request if your organization requires.  Baskets will be put on display on the first of May and raffle tickets will be sold for a full month. All basket donors are listed with their displayed basket as well as on the library website and other publicity.  Winning raffle tickets will be drawn on Thursday, May 30th.

Fundraisers like this make an incredible difference to the public library, and I truly value the generosity of our community of friends and patrons. All proceeds will go directly to the Burlington Public Library and provide for youth services and adult programming, our incredibly popular museum passes, and additional enhancements to our library services.
