The Burlington Board of Health is encouraging residents to test their homes for radon.  According to the EPA, Burlington is in the area of Massachusetts with the highest potential for radon. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. Exposure to radon increases your risk for lung cancer. The EPA action guideline for radon is 4 pCi/L.  All homes, regardless of age or presence of a basement, should be tested. Testing for radon is quick, simple and inexpensive.
