Washington, DC Cherry Blossom Festival

Dates:  April 12 - 15

The annual National Cherry Blossom Festival com- memorates Tokyo’s 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, DC, honoring the 2 countries’ lasting friendship. On March 27, 1912, First Lady Helen Taft and Viscountess Chinda, wife of the Japanese am- bassador, planted the first 2 trees. Since Mrs. Taft’s involvement, our First Ladies have been the festival’s honorary chairs. Today’s festival has grown from mod- est beginnings to the nation’s greatest springtime cel- ebration with active participation by school children and civic groups, spanning 4 weekends and welcom- ing more than 1.5 million people to enjoy the trees, di- verse programming and the arrival of Spring in the na- tion’s capital. Trip includes: Round-trip transportation, 3-nights stay at Greenbelt, MD Holiday Inn (or similar), 5 meals, reserved seating for the parade and a number of tours. Estimated time of departure: 7 am on April 12th. Estimated time of return: 7 pm on April 15.

Saratoga, NY

Dates:  August 3 - 5

Enjoy a lovely weekend in scenic Saratoga Springs, NY. Come visit the famous Saratoga Race Course and catch a race!
