Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard

Date:  Saturday, July 7
Cost per Person:  $145

Nantucket, a tiny, isolated island off Cape Cod, features dune-backed beaches and has been designated by The Nature Conservancy as one of the last “Great Places on Earth.” It’s marked by its unpainted cedar-shingled buildings, manicured privets, wharves and cobble-stone streets lined with restaurants, steeple-topped churches and chic boutiques.   Martha's Vineyard sits in the Atlantic just south of Cape Cod. This longtime New England summer colony, a favorite of celebrities, encompasses harbor towns, farmland, lighthouses, and sandy beaches. You’ll find fabulous shopping, quaint Victorian Cottages, an iconic carousel and expansive beaches … and yes, more places for dining from casual to gourmet!

Thimble Island Cruise

Date:  Saturday, July 14
Cost per Person:  $117

The “Thimbles” have often been described as “a piece of the Maine coast that drifted into Long Island Sound…”. Summer excursion vessels plied these waters during the “golden age” of the Victorian Era. Twenty-three of the islands are large enough to be inhabited. Approximately 85 homes, built mostly during the Victorian Era, are complete with widow walks, gingerbread trimmings, and genteel gazebos. Islands range in all sizes, and have spartina and pink granite with the larger ones boasting scrub pine & hardwoods, making the islands appear to be deceivingly tropical in nature!

Martha's Vineyard

Date:  Saturday, August 4
Cost per Person:  $99

Rich in history and a favorite summer haven for many notables over the years. The original people of Martha’s Vineyard included the Native American Wampanoags. Unable to prove, but it’s believed that the first humans probably came here at the end of the Ice Age, but before the sea levels changed and the Island was formed. Native American camps that carbon date to 2270 B.C.E. have been uncovered on the Island. As you tour the island, you will learn the rich history of immigrants from England and the Cape Verde island, farmers, fisherman, blacksmiths and merchants who settled here as a safe haven. Through the colonial period, raiding British, the Age of Whaling and the Civil War, Martha’s Vineyard became a nurturing place where all peoples could prosper!
