Council on Aging Tax Program
The Council on Aging offers COA participants the opportunity to work up to 100 hours per year at a rate equivalent to minimum wage. This amount is applied toward the participant's property taxes. The Town Clerk's office has been fortunate enough to participate in this program and has had wonderful, wonderful assistance. Thank you, to Ann Hillson for her assistance!

Volunteer and Internship Opportunities
Interns/volunteers will help arrange and describe records, as the records are prepared for relocation to a renovated vault. Interns/volunteers will use an Access database based on MARC-AMC fields to describe 1799-1997 records. Interns/volunteers will work with the Archivist/Records Manager and will become familiar with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records municipal records disposition schedule.

Preservation internships/volunteer positions are also available. Current possibilities include rehousing historic material in archival-quality containers (permanent paper folders, boxes, Mylar, etc.) and constructing custom-size containers for fragile volumes.

Indexing interns/volunteers are needed to do personal name, geographic name and subject indexing. Indexing will be completed in an Access database.
