A Night In Vegas -
Over 100 participants attended the "Night In Vegas" event on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the
Hilton Garden Inn on Wheeler Road. There were gaming tables with raffle prizes,
a Neil Diamond impersonator, photos with "the Rat Pack" and the raffle of a 3/4 carat
diamond pendant necklace from Longs. See the

Phase 1 Ribbon Cutting -
On a rainy Saturday, November 14, 2009 a ribbon cutting was held
to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 of the Grand View Farm
renovation. The
Phase 1
work was completed by Linwood Construction of Somerville, MA and
focused on the the structure and exterior of the Main House and the
connecting Ell. During the celebration
the brick walkway was dedicated and the house interior
was opened for a second public tour.
Burlington Fall Fair 2009 -
As part of the Fall Fair on Saturday, September 26, 2009,
sections of the Grand View Farm were opened for
public viewing of the Phase 1 renovation.
After being greeted by Roger Morrison who was dressed as Abner Marion,
some 500 people toured the Farm interior.
Tours were led by Kathi Horton
(dressed as wife Sarah Marion), Brenda Cahoon,
Hope Paulsen and Sonia Rollins.
At the conclusion of the walk through, cake provided by EXIT Premier Real Estate
was passed out to celebrate Abner's 200th birthday.
Out on the town common Janet Atkinson and Nick Rubino manned the Grand View Farm table.
Over $1200 was raised through sale of commemorative items and donations.

Phase 1 Ground Breaking -
The official ground breaking was held in the field adjacent to the farm
on Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

Lester's Roadside BBQ -
An evening fundraiser was held at Lester's Roadside BBQ, 376A Cambridge Street,
on Thursday, November 3, 2005.
Sixty people were fed, raising $810 from ticket sales and donations.
Thanks to Sue and Doug, the owners of Lester's.

Texas Hold-Em Tournament -
A Texas Hold-Em Tournament was held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the
American Legion Hall, 162 Winn Street. Nearly $8000 was raised to support the restoration
effort.

Art Auction/Wine Tasting -
An art auction/wine tasting was held Saturday, October 23rd at Rebecca's Cafe,
8 Executive Mall Road.
Featured were origional works by professional and recreational artists
with ties to Burlington, past and present.
The event was generously sponsored by Riemer & Braunstein LLP.

The Rotary Centennial Anniversary/Grand View Farm Fundraiser -
The centennial of the Burlington Rotary Club was celebrated on the town common on
Saturday, August 28, 2004. There was music, a Minuteman encampment, a gathering of classic cars
as well as a display of farm implements from the Grand View Farm. Food was provided by the
Outback Steakhouse. At the conclusion of the celebration, a $2500 check was presented to the
Grand View Farm Advisory Committee to help in the restoration effort.

Las Vegas Night -
The second major fund raiser was held Saturday night March 20, 2004
at the American Legion Hall on Winn Street. The event was a huge success with tables
being manned by volunteers for five hours.

Mystery Dinner Theatre -
The Mystery Dinner Theatre and Silent Auction was held
Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Cafe Escadrille (Function Hall).
Our first major fund raiser was a sell out.
240 people attended, netting $6,354 for the preservation efforts.
Open House -
The first public Open House of the
Marion Tavern at Grand View Farm
was held Saturday, October 4, 2003, 1-4 p.m.
The Open House included guided tours of the first floor
and the Grand View Farm small barn.
Over 2000 people attended on a very rainy day.
This was a major success, confirming the Town's interest in preserving this historic property.
Townspeople were able to meet with committee volunteers,
members of the Board of Selectmen and town officials.

Library Exhibit -
An exhibit was set up at the entrance to the Burlington Public Library
in the windows to the left and to the right.
The exhibit opened prior to the Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2003.
